Thailand and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are close to finalizing their free trade agreement (FTA), with approximately 80% of the discussions already completed. The FTA is expected to be completed by the end of the year and could have significant economic benefits for Thailand. During the fourth round of negotiations, agreements were reached in areas such as food, agricultural products, air conditioners, and car components. The FTA covers five major areas, including trade in goods, trade remedies, legal and institutional matters, rules of origin, and trade in services and digital trade. If finalized, the FTA could boost Thailand’s GDP by 318-357 million US dollars and exports by 190-243 million dollars.
