Australian Prime Minister Albanese visits China November 4-7 to discuss trade issues, especially wine exports, and improve bilateral relations.
Prime Minister’s Visit to China
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is set to visit China from November 4 to 7 to discuss improving bilateral relations and resolving trade disputes, particularly around wine exports. The thawing of China-Australia relations has gained momentum following the recent release of journalist Cheng Lei and progress on wine import restrictions.
Addressing Trade and Economic Ties
Albanese will engage with Chinese leaders, including President Xi Jinping, and attend the China International Import Expo. His visit aims to stabilize relations, representing a critical moment for economic collaboration, given that China accounts for nearly a third of Australia’s total trade. This visit marks the first by an Australian Prime Minister since 2016.
